Kathryn graduated from RMIT in 2002, she has always been passionate about treating and preparing pregnant people for birth and pelvic floor dysfunction. Dr Mia Di Ciccio - Osteopath

Mia graduated from RMIT university with a double degree in Bachelor of Health Science and Applied Science (Osteopathy). Mia was always interested in working in the field of allied health as she had a passion from a young age in health, physical activity and science. The human body has always been an interest to Mia as she has always participated in sports including basketball and football as a teen. She now loves to lead an active life style through practicing pilates, strength based training and walking her dogs.

Mia understands that there is variety in each patient’s needs. Her vision is to provide tailored treatment to each individual. She will evaluate which treatment technique and style will benefit the patient whether this is a firm or gentle approach. Mia's biggest passion and love for osteopathy lies at the core of the philosophy of osteopathy that it utilises a holistic approach. This involves considering how all body systems are functioning. Mia believes discussing and addressing other factors that may contribute to pain, can help get to the root cause of the pain. She is a firm believer in working with clients to develop a plan together that achieves long term, sustainable change. Most importantly, a plan where the client can be involved in their healing journey outside of the treatment room. Mia has completed her qualification in matwork and equipment pilates (including reformer). She has also done additional training in movement analysis, assessment and rehabilitation programming. As movement is an important part of her treatment style she often incorporates this into her treatments, creating exercise programs and movement sequences for her patients. Mia uses rehabilitation as an adjunctive tool to manual therapy for those who are interested in creating a plan for long term change. This is an excellent option for patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain, concerns with strength and balance, returning to sport from an injury.

Mia has completed further studies in women’s health and pre and postnatal care. She has done additional studies with pre and postnatal pilates. Mia has completed additional training in diastasis recti assessment (with and without using the ultrasound to assess this area) and rehabilitation. This is an excellent option for those who would like to visualise their pelvic floor and abdominal muscle contraction that is non-invasive and comfortable. The assessment of the abdominal wall also forms a part of her return to running assessment in the postnatal population. Changes in the core are evident during pregnancy however Mia believes that education regarding core health is something that extends beyond the pre and post natal population. Mia is passionate about educating people about the influence the core canister and breathing has on a range of conditions including: Neck pain, TMJ pain, Mid & lower back pain, chronic pain, Pelvic pain, abdominal discomfort, Prolapse, hemorrhoids, urinary incontinence, paediatric bed wetting and constipation and much more! Within the core, there are lots of visceral organs, Mia has completed further training in abdominal visceral manipulation to assist her with manual treatment of the abdominal wall.

Mia is studying Integrative breathing therapy for practitioners, an evidence based approach to breathing retraining. She will be completing her studies for this in 2023.

Meg will educate you (and your support person) with proactive strategies and exercises, to ensure you have optimal spinal mobility and pelvic alignment to accomodate the complex changes of pregnancy. This allows your baby to get into an optimal position and sets you up for a positive birthing experience.

Meg has also completed further training in visceral osteopathy, a form of treatment to address the organs of the abdomen. Meg utilises these techniques in all treatments, but particularly for anyone with underlying digestive issues, such as reflux or constipation. Meg believes that everyone should be their own health advocate and she will educate you on any digestive, immune or hormonal imbalances that may be contributing to your complaint.

Dr. Jessie Wood - Osteopath

Jessie graduated from Victoria University in 2006 with a Masters of Health Science (Osteopathy), and has since worked in various osteopathic clinics across Melbourne. She was first introduced to osteopathy as a teenager following a back injury, and it sparked a passion for anatomy, health and healing. Jessie loves problem solving and finding ways to help her patients feel their best and adores getting to know them along the way. She draws on her personal experience as a woman on her own health journey to relate to her patients and give them both professional and real life advice.

Jessie treats patients of all ages and backgrounds, and considers herself a ‘whole family osteopath’, treating everyone from babies and kids, teenagers and students, to mums and dads, and the grandparents as well. Every life stage brings physical challenges, whether it be related to growth and development, pregnancy-related pain, work and postural issues, chronic pain or aging, and Jessie enjoys helping people throughout these stages.

Jessie has a particular interest in treating neck and back pain, headaches and TMJ/jaw problems, which are very common complaints in office workers and students, but can happen to us all, especially in times of stress. Jessie has vast experience in this area and gives all her patients practical advice to help them manage their health and wellbeing through daily life and difficult periods.

With a passion for working in women’s health, Jessie has spent most of her post-graduate career pursuing further study in this area. She loves supporting women through their pregnancy journey and beyond into their post-partum recovery, and her training in paediatric osteopathy means that she can care for their newborn babies and children as well. Jessie has also found that working with women into the perimenopausal and postmenopausal phase is particularly rewarding, when debilitating complaints such as urinary incontinence and prolapse arise, but are often not properly addressed by medical professionals, or even talked about in society.

Jessie has had additional training in dry needling, cupping and cranial/biodynamic osteopathy, and she is also undertaking some further study into the treatment and management of chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and long covid. She uses a range of osteopathic techniques during treatment and will tailor her care according to each individual patient. Jessie likes to educate her patients about their bodies, taking the fear out of pain and injury, and empowering them to take control of their recovery.

Outside of the clinic Jessie is a mum of two pre-teens who keep her very busy with all their activities, in her own time she loves to read a wide range of books, go for long walks and listen to true crime podcasts!
